Day 5

June 7, 2006  |  LiveJournal  |  14 Comments

Today was spent packing and crying. I hate leaving my parents. I cry every time I leave them or they leave me. I love them so much and miss them terribly but I have a wonderful girlfriend to come home to. I left at noon and arrived back in Tampa around 7:30pm. It is a long, boring drive but does go kinda quick I guess. I spent the night with Danielle.

I had so much fun this past weekend. The wedding was beautiful and it was great seeing most of my relatives again. I ate too much, I drank too much and didn’t get enough sleep. The next best thing was that my trans stuff wasn’t a big deal to really anyone and I was there just like I would of been there as a guy. It was great and I’m so happy that everyone else seemed to focus on the wedding.

Day 4

Sunday was fun. I finally got into my parents pool with my two sisters and their boyfriends. We just blabbed about stuff the whole time. I actually got sun this weekend :P

Relatives and friends started to arrive just after 1pm. My parents cooked a “Low Country Boil”. It was basically low boiling like 15lbs. of potatoes, 10lbs. of shrimp, like 26 ears of corn, a lot of sausage in water that was seasoned with various spices, lemon and I guess salt and pepper. It was really tastey. My parents do it once in a while so I’ve had it before.

I finally got to talk to a couple of my brother’s friends that were in the wedding party. I think they felt probably awkward before-hand to talk to me but I dunno. I used to talk to them often when I was a dude. They’re all really good friends.

The afternoon was spent socializing, eating and drinking. I later hooked up with some friends and spent the rest of the night with them. We hung out at the bowling alley because they all still were in league. Afterwards was spent at “Somewhere in Augusta” for some more drinks and then back to my friend’s house to meet up with Melanie again. I was out too late.

Day 3

The wedding was really beautiful. We arrived at the church at 2:30pm for the photos. It was nice to be in a few of them with the family and all. w00t Erin is recorded in history with her brother’s wedding :P It was nice. I ended up being escorted in to the sanctuary to my special spot on the second pew, center front. I sat beside my mother and father. I cried so much at the beginning and the end. It was so emotional to hear, “I now pronouce you Mr. and Mrs. Brian S* N*

I wasn’t allowed to take any photos during the photo session or during the ceremony in the sanctuary. That sucked so I am demanding I get a copy of all photos that my brother and his wife pick out for themselves. Digital or print, I don’t care, I’ll pay for them if I have to.

The reception was a lot of fun. It was taken at this place called the Julien Smith Casino down on the lake. It was really beautiful with it’s stone walls and hard wood flooring. I did take many photos during the reception and had a few taken of myself too with various family and of course, my brother and his wife.

It ended at around 10pm and we continued the party at my parents house. I finally passed out about 1am just after getting off the phone with my beautiful girlfriend Danielle.

<plug> She is sooo wonderful and so beautiful; I am soo lucky to be with her!

Today has been a blast but more about today later…
Possibly photos later but since they include people other then myself, I might not.

Day 2

The rehersal went fine. I actually have a place to sit at, go figure but I’m not being escorted in or out of the church :( Sucks. As I sat there watching things go on, I couldn’t help but feel left out. Both the bride’s sisters were in the wedding party, and so were both my sisters. Boooo! Oh well eh? I’m happy my brother is getting married.

My older sister was late. She missed rehersal due to 2 cars failing on her (one was the rental car) so she made it for the dinner afterwards.

Before rehersal, I was out on the pool deck getting some sun. I’m like half naked, you know bikini, top undone, I’m home alone and I get a surprise visit. My aunt and uncle and great aunt and uncle from Southern Ontario arrived unexpectedly. They thought I was my sister laying out. I was on the phone with my gf Danielle so I never heard them pull up.

We spent the afternoon socializing and then the rest of the family came over for swimming and food.

The dinner was great. I also missed not getting a little gift like the brides maids and groomsmen got.

Afterwards, it was time to leave and I was gonna meet up with some friends. I was pretty disappointed that like half of them bailed on me. *sigh* I guess I’ll have to see them next time I am in town. I had a really great night though.

I got to hang out with Chris, Dan and Matt at the Pizza Joint for a while. Then I met up with Melanie madcompg33k. She had lived in St. Pete for a couple years but moved here the same time I moved from here down there lol. Anyway, she is really, really cool. She works with my friend Chris. I hope I get to see her at least once more before I head back home on Monday.

I gotta run, time to shower, makeup, get dressed and off to the church for pictures and then the wedding at 5pm!

After attending the rehersal and dinner, I really wish I could of been in the wedding.

Day 1 Down

I had my nails done the other day. A first for me, pink and white acrylic. I had a pediure too, another first and then my hair cut. All in preperation for the wedding tomorrow.

I left 8am yesterday and arrived at my parents house around 3:30. It was a long, boring drive thru Florida and Georgia. At the house my mom was awaiting me. Other relatives had left for a short while to only return later that evening. My dad was in Columbia, SC picking up my grandparents and other relatives from the airport.

I first met my cousin Matt and his wife and 3 kids. I have only seen him like 3 times in my life and the last was like 4-5 years ago at my grandpa’s wedding. He greeted me as my sister lol. I was like, hi and no, I’m not Brianne :P Then my dad arrived with my grandparents and 2 aunts and a cousin. OMG my cousin is soo pretty. I last saw her when she was like 14. She’s now 18 and is what jealousy is made out of lol. My mom’s sister, husband and one of their daughter’s arrived later that evening with my mom’s mother (the one that didn’t take the news of my transition well).

It really wasn’t a big deal. Everyone was like 99% on the ball with my new name and the she’s and her’s. My mom’s mother, she seemed to be OK after she recognized who I was. She had no clue but later had asked my mom if I was happy. My mom said she’s very happy and my grandma said OK.

We pretty much all sat around the deck and the pool, eating dinner and drinking for most of the evening. It was a lot of fun, great chit chat and the best part was that I felt like I just fit in like always.

A couple people just said I looked really pretty, and very happy. Not much trans chat, thank goodness too. I really don’t like chatting about trans stuff much these days with friends or family. If they wanna ask a question or two, great, I’ll answer it but I don’t do the detail I used to with the answer.

My two sister’s will be in town tonite. The wedding rehersal is at 6pm but before that I’m gonna go lay out on the pool deck, catch some sun and then hopefully get out to the mall for a quick shopping trip for an accessory for my dress.

Tonight is planned to be spent with my friends that I still have up here :)

Wedding is tomorrow!
