HRT Regiment

The information contained in this page is solely for documentational purposes. Before anyone starts taking hormones they should consult a doctor. This is my private information and not for personal use.

This is my current HRT regiment:
100mg X 2 Spironolactone daily & 2mg X 2 Estradiol daily.

June 15, 2011

Medication: Estradiol

Change: Started
Comment: My doctor says that there isn’t much difference between the pills and injections except that my hormone levels might be more consistent throughout the month.

June 15, 2011

Medication: Estradiol Valerate

Change: Discontinued use.
Comment: I stopped the injections mainly because they were too much of a hassle and that I simply just didn’t like it. My doctor said that the pills are just as safe as the injections.

March 1, 2007

Medication: Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate

Change: Discontinued use.
Comment: The only reason I took a progesterone was hopes for fuller breast development. After I had breast augmentation, I discontinued use because I felt it was serving no added benefit.

January 22, 2005

Medication: Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate

Change: Switched to monthly injections of 1cc of 250mg/mL Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate. Discontinued use of Duphaston.
Comment: Safer, cheaper and less hassle. Prescription filled.

January 22, 2005

Medication: Estradiol Valerate

Change: Switched to bi-weekly injections of 1cc of 40mg/mL Estradiol Valerate. Discontinued use of Estrofem.
Comment: Safer, cheaper and less hassle. Prescription filled.

January 10, 2005

Medication: Spironolactone

Change: No change in dosage.
Comment: Switched to a prescription filled by my health insurance provider through their online pharmacy’s home delivery option. Manufactured by Searle.

November 9, 2004

Medication: Duphaston

Change: Switched from 200mg/day of Utrogestan to 20mg/day of Duphaston. Duphaston is a synthetic progestin.
Comment: I decided to do this for two reasons: 1. I wanted to see if it would work better since I didn’t really notice much with the Utrogestan and 2. It is a little cheaper then Utrogestan.

July 1, 2004

Medication: Utrogestan 100 (Generic Prometrium)

Change: Added 200mg daily. One 100mg tablet every 12 hrs to be taken with the Spirotone dosage.
Comment: I know there is a progesterone debate whether or not its needed but I want to find out for myself if it will help any.

July 1, 2004

Medication: Estrofem

Change: Dosage increased to 6mg daily. one 2mg tablet every 8 hrs.
Comment: Not that I feel any developement anywhere has haulted, I just want to up to 6mg and see what happens for the rest of the year.

April 12, 2004

Medication: Aspirin

Change: Discontinued use.
Comment: After research, I found that apsirin had no effect on enzyme clotting factors that estrogen consumption leads to. All I was doing was increasing the risk of internal bleeding. No one in my family has any history of cardiac problems so there is no reason to take aspirin for platelet aggregation.

March 1, 2004

Medication: Estrofem

Change: Added 4mg of Estrofem/day sublingually. 2mg every 12hrs at the same time as when the spiro is taken.

February 2, 2004

Medication: Centrum

Change: 1 multi-vitamin pill taken at noon with the Estrofem and Spiro.

February 2, 2004

Medication: Aspirin

Change: 1 325mg Bayer aspirin taken at the same time as the night dosage of Spiro

February 2, 2004

Medication: Spirotone

Change: Back to 100mg x 2 a day
Comment: It just felt like erections were occuring too often when the dose was split into 50mg x 4

January 17, 2004

Medication: Spirotone

Change: Split dosage to 50mg every 4 hrs (200mg/day continued)
Comment: Felt like a continued dosage of Spiro through-out the day would be better then 100mg every 12hrs.

December 19, 2003

Medication: Spirotone

Change: Upped 50mg to 200mg/day (100mg every 12hrs)
Comment: A friend suggested upping the dosage to 200mg since I’m not on estrogen yet.

December 3, 2003

Medication: Spirotone

Change: Upped 50mg to 150mg/day (50mg every 8hrs)
Comment: Didn’t feel like 100mg was enough.

November 3, 2003

Medication: Spirotone

Change: Started Spiro 100mg/day (50mg every 12hrs)
